The class is to provide a friendly space for Spanish speakers to practice and learn English. Depending on students' levels of English, I will tailor our session to meet their needs, and always maintain a safe space for them to experiment and practice real-life conversations. It may be introductions, numbers, colors, clothes, or as advanced as lessons about grammar in english, practice interview scenarios, or anything else that may be beneficial for their learning.
I am the ideal teacher because I, too, understand the challenges of learning another language. I've studied both Spanish and French, so I understand how hard it can be to practice with a fluent speaker, get stuck, and still keep going. I also know how valuable it is to have a safe, supportive space to learn and practice. I have also taught an English course to Spanish speakers, in person in Buenos Aires, Argentina. I received great feedback from the students: "...Not only did you teach us efficiently, but you made the environment comfortable and transmitted positive energy around us..." Comments like this make the work so fulfilling for me as well. After 6 months, I saw their improvement firsthand, and we were able to go to a cafe and enjoy a conversation in English together. I want to continue to connect and share the knowledge of language with others!
